Case study: Reestore

The brief
Eco product designer, Max McMurdo required an identity for his business - Reestore ltd that showcased his range of products whilst also being able to have a simple online store to trade. When you are confronted by a range of products that include a chair made from a recycled shopping trolley and a sofa that used to be a rolltop bath you have to go for it on the design front otherwise it is a classic missed opportunity! Due to this being a start up business budget was minimal but the need to stand out was paramount.
Following a successful pitch on the BBC's Dragons' Den, the client won investment in his business which then kickstarted the need to launch both the designer and his products into the public eye. Blue Prawn were then asked to create the branding and product launch material for Ben the bin, a recycling bin that uses standard carrier bags.
The result
Prior to the client's success on the BBC's Dragons' Den, Blue Prawn created a striking identity for Reestore that was clean, clinical but also having a subtle organic quality. The brand was then implemented throughout all marketing collateral. We then created a bespoke website with secure e-commerce facility that showcased the range of products and the new brand identity.
It was the quality of the creative that impressed the investors from the Dragon's Den and resulted in the new brief to create the identity for Ben the bin. This was a cracking opportunity with huge potential and one that we threw everything at. Working closely with the client we created a strong brand identity, and visually stunning illustrative approach that has caused a hugely positive reaction since launch. Blue Prawn created a surreal and engaging environment for the new product that was created in-house and showcases our talent for illustration and for approaching a project from a different direction. We then implemented the graphics into a bespoke website that will see substantial future development in 2009.
The results? Well see for yourself!
Brand Identity
Following a successful pitch on the BBC's Dragons' Den, the client won investment in their business which then kickstarted the need to launch both the designer and his products into the public eye. Blue Prawn were then asked to create the branding for Ben the bin, a recycling bin that uses standard carrier bags and adds some glamour to the recycling process!
Illustration
If ever our talent for in house illustration was demonstrated then ‘ben’s world’ is it! We have created a surreal and wonderfully charming environment that will not only display the product but will evolve considerably both for fun and educational purposes.
Marketing Collateral
Showcasing the left of center ‘ben’s world’ environment that we have created, the brand has unbelievable stand out qualities and continues to cause a really positive reaction winning a good number of high profile admirers along the way.
Website
The client needed a site that created a reaction and led users straight to making a purchase. Budget was tight so the site was to remain relatively light on content, the nature of the graphics takes you away from this and creates an enjoyable visit for the user.
