Case study: Strip n Prep

The brief
This client is a typical owner managed business where budgets have to work extra hard. Already a successful painter and decorator, the client had developed an innovative new route to market to tap into the lucrative home DIY market, traditionally excluded from the client base of a professional decorating service. Rather than focus on the whole job, this client decided to take the home decorator's pain away - even those who like to do their own decorating usually hate the preparation work. So, 'Strip n Prep' was born - a decorating service that primes rooms for home decorating. Strip n Prep do all the hard work - the filling, sanding, stripping wallpaper and preparing walls for paper or paint, so the home DIY enthusiast just has to put on the paint and claim the glory!
The result
Strip n Prep is a brand new concept in decorating, and the corporate identity needed to be eye catching, contemporary and yet clearly communicate the service being offered. Once developed and refined, the new corporate identity was applied to stationery, vehicle livery, workwear and a new website. Because the client base was likely to consist of professional people, a website was essential which would provide a point of reference and contact details and client testimonials from the local area. Strip n Prep is also a Trading Standards Approved contractor, an important distinction which helps to give peace of mind to clients, and it was felt that a website would enhance the professional approach to business demonstrated by the company and offer further reassurance to potential customers.
Brand Identity
Our client wanted to create a big impact when they launched Strip ‘n’ Prep as the concept did not exist in the market place. Blue Prawn created a brand that is striking and shows the very nature of the business brilliantly! This is best highlighted by the stunning van livery that is a real head turner and a cracking mobile advertisement for the brand.
Marketing Collateral
The brand’s qualities are further showcased within the company’s marketing collateral which includes a full suite of corporate stationery, direct mail and press advertising.

To showcase our client’s gleaming new identity we have designed and built a striking website that is effective in promoting and illustrating the services and quality of work. This site has room to grow with minimal production costs.
